Derivative Standards
At DoubleMarket’s core is a semi-fungible token controller that creates tokenized representation of derivatives contracts. These contracts each have associated metadata that includes contract specs for such class of derivative. This metadata definition is designed to be broad enough to capture features of derivatives contracts typical across different trading venues, such as Deribit, OKX, CME, etc. These may include:
| Specification | Examples |
|---|---|
| Underlying | BTC-USD, ETH-USD, SOL-USDC |
| Quote Asset | BTC, USDC |
| Settlement Asset | BTC, USDC |
| Settlement Index | Deribit |
| Expiration | YYYY-mm-dd HH:MM:SS UTC |
| Strike Price | $70,000 |
The controller contract will maintain outstanding amounts of each derivatives class and allow creation of new classes.
